After the Gym, I went to get some new clothes for this new job opportunity I have. And let me just say, it felt great! I am one of those people that love separating Work, Home and Normal clothes. I love to dress for different occasions. I am just feel so good and incredibly blessed. These pants fit just right and a size smaller. Besides being bloated, I still felt amazing. Today was a good day! STRENGTH TRAINING - WHAT's THE POINT? The usual messages you'll get go along with strength training are focused on the health messages. Which, yes, I've done as well. Message like, the benefits of strength training for woman are: - increased energy levels - decreased risk of osteoporosis - increased fitness - decreased risk of cardiovascular disease (aka having a heart attack) - stabilise, possibly increase, metabolism - maintain weight - minimise bladder leakage (when done correctly) - stave off the effects of aging - increase muscle mass/density which decreases risk of falls But really, while the list of benefits of strength training is long, what does it really mean, practically? Well, try these on for size: - independence, especially when older. You can move more and do more for longer throughout your life. This means travelling, it means going to the shops without support, it means independent living, it means limiting the risk of falls - it means being able to lift your shopping, lift the kids, lift suitcases, lift anything really in daily life without help. It means you can do more! - it means less pain which means getting out and doing more. - it means more energy, which means getting out and doing more of what you enjoy - it means feeling better about yourself - it means feeling more confident. Strength training not only has a lift of recorded, proven health benefits it means you can do more in your life. It means you can live a happier life with more energy. Lifting weights isn't all about bodybuilding or bulging muscles. It's about independence, confidence and having fun in life! If you're scared about going into a gym - you're totally not alone!! So..... this isn't my final challenge scan, but, with the changes I made, I kinda wanted to see where I was at. I think this finally looks like I'm "bulking". It's a lean bulk, and a CLEAN one at that, so the process is slooooooow and.... not gonna lie, a little frustrating. But, seeing my muscle mass increase makes me really happy. Even if that means the fat loss is slower. I'm eating a LOT more, which is hard to do both physically, and mentally. . . Interested to see what the coming weeks and months look like. Spoke to my comp prep coach today. Hoping to start training with his team really soon. I'm 8 months out from competition as of today. Sunday it was a fun run for @runforhopemelbourne (PS $10,000 raised 🙌🏼🙌🏼). ⁣ Yesterday it was 𝐤𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐛𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐧𝐠 with Matt @alphasportsmed ⁣ 🥊 ⁣ Today it was pilates with the super awesome & knowledgeable Lorraine at @lorraine_beyondpilates 🤸🏽⁣ ⁣ Tomorrow it will be team training at @big5fitness 🏋🏼‍♀️ ⁣ What a great start to my week. I love cross training my body through different forms of movement. Not only does it help condition different muscle groups but I’m building new skills & keeping it fun 😆🤸🏽🏃🏽‍♀️🏋🏼‍♀️🧘‍♀️⁣ ⁣
